We met recently with William Grant & Sons and the team advise that the warehousing project is progressing well. The first warehouse block to the west of the site is nearing completion as you can see in the photograph. The Company intends to begin storing casks of its luxury whisky brands, Glenfiddich and The Balvenie, in this warehouse block from January 2024.

The steel frame for the second warehouse block and the piling and foundation works for the third warehouse block are currently under construction. Works are due to complete by February 2025.

To prepare for construction, William Grant’s commissioned the AOC Archaeology Group to assess the site and catalogue the results. A possible Neolithic timber hall was discovered, and has been listed by Dig it Scotland as the top archaeological discovery of 2023. Over the next eighteen months, discovered artefacts will be lodged with the appropriate heritage authorities for archiving.
